Hello, my name is Nena Forshee and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am originally from Upstate, NY, and relocated to Chesapeake, VA in 2020. (And I am very happy to have traded in the snow for the ocean!). Previously, I have worked in different mental health clinics since 2009, ranging in areas such as child & adolescent treatment facilities, psychiatric emergency rooms, psychiatric hospitals, and Partial Hospitalization Programs.

I am currently offering online therapy sessions to adolescents and adults on weekdays and evenings as well as in-person sessions on some weekday evenings. I specialize in anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and adolescent and early adulthood therapy. My philosophy of care is centered around the belief that the most important part of providing care is understanding clients’ mental health journey and meeting them at that point. I take a collaborative approach with clients to determine how they will work together in meeting their set goals. My treatment is centered around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Based Therapy.
