Every immigration case carries a person behind it — a family separated, a danger left behind, a life being rebuilt. At Deep Connections Counseling, evaluations are conducted with the same clinical care as therapy, even though the goal is different: producing a clear, well-documented report your attorney can put to work.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and PhD-level mental health professional, licensed in both Virginia and North Carolina, with extensive clinical experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, and relationship and family difficulties in adults, couples, and families. My advanced training in EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) shapes how I assess trauma histories, emotional regulation, attachment disruptions, and how traumatic experience affects someone's day-to-day functioning and relationships.
Much of my clinical work centers on multicultural individuals, couples, and families — understanding how culture, family systems, language, migration-related adjustment, and differing cultural expectations shape emotional well-being. That lens matters here, because your psychological experience has to be understood in the context of immigration, acculturation, family separation, and the other stressors your case involves.
Beyond my clinical background, I completed the 12-week Expert Training in Immigration Evaluations Full Certificate Program, focused specifically on the clinical, ethical, cultural, and psycho-legal considerations of immigration evaluations — and on writing reports that communicate clearly to attorneys, USCIS, and Immigration Court.
I coordinate directly with your attorney throughout the process — from an initial consult about which evaluation fits your case, to a final report written to hold up under scrutiny.

Each evaluation is written to the specific legal standard it needs to meet — not a generic template.
Asylum & Related Relief
Documents the psychological impact of persecution experienced abroad and assesses the credible fear of returning — supporting claims based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or social group.
Violence Against Women Act
Available to survivors of any gender. Establishes the nature of the abusive relationship and the psychological toll of domestic violence, supporting a path to status independent of the abuser.
Victims of Crime
Details the mental and emotional harm resulting from a qualifying crime committed in the U.S., and the applicant's cooperation with law enforcement.
Survivors of Trafficking
Addresses the trauma of human trafficking and exploitation, supporting applications for victims who assist in investigation or prosecution.
Extreme Hardship Waivers
Assesses the hardship a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident relative would face if a loved one were denied admission or removed.
Removal Proceedings
Supports individuals already in removal proceedings by documenting hardship to qualifying family members and other factors relevant to the court's discretion.

Relevant documentation — medical records, police reports, prior filings — is reviewed and incorporated to strengthen the evaluation's evidentiary value.
Report Delivered
A comprehensive written report, including relevant diagnoses and clinical findings, is delivered securely to you and your attorney once payment is finalized.

Does an evaluation guarantee my case will be approved?+
No. An evaluation is one piece of supporting evidence your attorney presents alongside the rest of your filing. It cannot guarantee an outcome, but a thorough, well-documented report can meaningfully strengthen your case.
Do you work directly with my attorney?+
Yes. With a signed release of information, I coordinate with your attorney on case requirements, share drafts for feedback where appropriate, and deliver the final report directly to them.
Is this the same as therapy?+
No — an immigration evaluation is a forensic assessment, not ongoing treatment. That said, sessions are conducted with the same warmth and care as a therapeutic relationship, and I'm happy to refer you to a therapist afterward if you'd like continued support.
What if I need my report faster than usual?+
Expedited evaluations are available for an additional fee when a filing deadline requires a faster turnaround. Let me know your timeline during your free consult and I'll confirm what's possible.
What languages can sessions be conducted in?+
Sessions are offered in English, Hungarian, Romanian, Turkish, Portuguese, Polish, and Spanish. If you speak another language, I can arrange a professional interpreter for an additional fee.
